Why PRX-T33 is not a peeling

ALTHOUGH FORMULATED WITH TRICHLORACETIC ACID, PRX-T33 IS NOT A PEELING, BUT A BIOREVITALIZER. HERE’S WHY.

In the March issue of Demarkos Rossana Castellana, dermatologist and Chief of WiQo Scientific Division, explains why PRX-T33, although formulated with trichloracetic acid, is not a peeling, but a biorevitalizer.

Trichloracetic acid (TCA) is one of the substances most commonly used by medical professionals as an exfoliant when treating photo-damaged skin and skin with acne scars, therefore for this reason it would be logical to assume that a formula containing TCA is a peeling. In this case, the deduction is not correct.

In fact, “combining the trichloracetic acid with hydrogen peroxide at an appropriate concentration” explains Dr. Castellana “TCA loses its aggressive action against the superficial layers of the epidermis while maintaining only the stimulating effect at the dermal level”.

The synergy between hydrogen peroxide and trichloracetic acid leads to a deep hydration of the skin, to cell renewal, and, if applied regularly, to subsequent production of new collagen fibers.
