  • Skin irritation
  • Skin sensitivity
  • Seborrheic dermatitis
  • Allergy to kojic acid

Can you perform the treatment on patients who are currently pregnant or breastfeeding?

No. PRX Derm Perfexion is not safe for patients who are currently pregnant or breastfeeding.

How long does the treatment take to perform?

A face and neck treatment takes approximately 20 minutes, including pretreatment.

What results can patients expect?

A complete PRX Derm Perfexion series will provide immediate and long-term results, helping improve the look of:

  • Sun damage
  • Melasma
  • Pore size
  • Aging
  • Skin discoloration
  • Line and wrinkles
  • Scars (acne, surgical scars)
  • Hydration
  • Hyperpigmentation
  • Stretch marks
  • Skin tightening / laxity
  • Exfoliation

Why is PRX DERM PERFEXION different than a peel?

Although (TCA) has historically been used as a peeling agent, PRX Derm Perfexion itself, IS NOT A PEEL! Peels are known for the inconvenience of prolonged downtime (i.e., you will l have to wait for the “peeling” to subside) and since outcomes can be difficult to control, there are increased risks (i.e., hypo- and hyper-pigmentation, infection.) This product delivers truly remarkable, age-defying benefits to the look and feel of skin without the peeling or downtime associated with chemical peels, injectables, or other invasive aesthetic treatments.

What are the benefits of this product?

PRX Derm Perfexion is a no downtime and no photosensitivity treatment that is safe for all skin types and targets aging skin, texture, laxity, wrinkles and dull skin for complete rejuvenation of the face and body.

Can I have the treatment if I have active acne?

Yes, but active acne can cause the skin to be more fragile and sensitive than normal. It is recommended to consult with your provider before scheduling your appointment. If you are on a topical retinoic acid (isotretinoin), you must suspend its use 15 days before your treatment.

What is the process like during treatment?

After a delicate cleansing, the provider will apply PRX Derm Perfexion with a certain massage technique, without using needles or injections. After the provider has applied the correct number of layers for your indication, they will rinse the residue from your skin with water and apply a post-treatment cream. Your provider will instruct you on the home care program before you leave your appointment.

Is there any discomfort during the treatment?

Generally, the treatment is well tolerated by most patients. Only minimal itching or burning sensation during treatment is reported and is considered normal – especially during the first treatment.

Please communicate with your provider if this sensation increases during treatment and if treatment becomes uncomfortable

How many treatments do I need to see results?

You will notice an immediate improvement after 1 session, but a full series (min. of 4 treatments) is needed for longer-lasting collagen formation.

How long do I have to wait in between sessions?

Seven days is the optimum interval, but your provider will advise you on a treatment plan best suited for your skin.

Can I combine PRX DERM PERFEXION with other procedures?

Yes. PRX Derm Perfexion can be combined with many other aesthetic procedures; your provider will advise you on the best combination therapies to address your aesthetic needs.

If I am doing this before an event, how many days prior should I schedule the appointment?

If you are already familiar with PRX Derm Perfexion and you know your skin’s reaction to it, you could have it done on the same day of your event. If this is your first PRX treatment, or if it has been a long period of time since your last treatment, we suggest allowing up to 5 days for your skin to resolve any discomfort (i.e., flaking, redness, etc.) that may occur.

What should I expect immediately post-treatment?

After the treatment, your skin will look brighter, plumper, tighter and more rested. There could be moderate redness with some flaking. Flaking means your skin needed to shed some excess dead cells. Both the flaking and the moderate redness can be alleviated by using Moisturizing Face Cream for Dry Skin.

What are the home care products?

Immediately after and in the days following the treatment, you will apply Moisturizing Face Cream for Dry Skin to restore your skin’s natural barrier. On the day following the treatment, you will apply Facial Smoothing Fluid in the evening and wait 30 minutes before applying any other products. For PRX Derm Perfexion on the body, on the day following the treatment, you will apply Moisturizing Body Cream in the evening.

Is it necessary to use the home care line after the treatment?

The home care program is specifically designed to alleviate possible discomforts such as redness or light flaking in the days following the treatment and it is used to enhance and prolong PRX Derm Perfexion’s dermal stimulation. Immediately after the treatment, your skin may be more sensitive and react unusually to moisturizers and other cosmetics, including products you use in your daily routine. Maintain the home care program instructed by your provider to avoid possible discomfort. Aside from the home care program, products like gentle cleansers, SPF and makeup are acceptable.

Am I able to work out, wear makeup and/or be in the sun after treatment?

SPF and makeup can be applied immediately after treatment. You may exercise after treatment, but please avoid saunas/steam baths for a minimum of 2 days post-treatment. Yes, you may go in the sun provided you use a high-level SPF suitable to your skin type.

Is there any downtime after the treatment?

No. You will be able to resume your social and professional life immediately after the treatment. Any redness or light flaking can be alleviated by using Moisturizing Face Cream for Dry Skin.
