Did you know? Massachusetts State Board of Cosmetology allows estheticians licensed in MA to perform Dermaplaning without a Medical Director, after certification by a Board Approved program like ours. The professional must have 16 hours of Board approved certification prior to offering this service.
This 16-hour certification provides in-depth training on how to manually exfoliate by removing dead skin cells and vellus hair using a surgical blade. Not only will you learn Dermaplaning protocols for various skin types, but also how to combine with other esthetics modalities.
Ideal course for both beginners and advanced licensed professionals. Ample hands training provided as attendees will pair up and work on each other.

What is Dermaplaning?
Dermaplaning is a simple and safe procedure for effectively exfoliating the epidermis and ridding the skin of fine vellus hair (peach fuzz). This popular treatment has been widely used within skin care clinics, aesthetics practices, physician offices, and medical spas. A customizable treatment, Dermaplaning is effective as a stand-alone treatment or the perfect add-on with other professional modalities! Done safely and properly using medical-grade tools, this manual exfoliation technique can be added to your service menu with minimal investment. This treatment provides high satisfaction to patients and high profits for your business.
A quick, profitable treatment with few to no adverse effects; Dermaplaning has quickly gained popularity. This is a great treatment to offer to clients who are pregnant or nursing, or who want a deep exfoliation, want to avoid peeling agents on their skin because of the risk of chemicals being absorbed into the blood stream. This course covers theory & lecture, marketing tips, frequently asked client questions and answers, business building, pricing and menu guidelines as well as extensive practical hands-on experience. Within this training, you will acquire a foundation of necessary skills and technique to properly perform a safe and thorough procedure. Understanding proper sanitation and safety issues.

There are 2 options for this course:
Option 1: Full 2 Day (16 Hour) Training Live in Person at our Institute. Price: $795 includes kit with ROI $3,000.
Option 2: Hybrid
Day 1- Lecture/Theory from Home – completed virtually through our online video (watch on your own time prior to class date).
Day 2- Live in Person at our Institute.
Price $625 includes kit with ROI $3,000.
Certification – Note about Hybrid option:
Upon successful completion of both online and practical hands-on training sessions, you will receive a State Board recognized Certification which allows you to begin offering Dermaplaning services to your clients. In Massachusetts, 16 hours of training are Board required before you can legally begin offering this service to clients.
*If you have taken an 8-hour dermaplaning course from another training provider and need 16 hours in order to legally practice, please CONTACT US explaining your situation along with proof of your 8 hour training. In this instance you have the option to test out (through a simple online quiz) which would allow us to waive the Day 1 lecture requirement of your training with us. And this would lower tuition cost to $399.
Model Information
No models are required as all attendees will pair up and work on each other. Attendees who are not able to get treated due to a medical reason, must contact us support@lovebeautypro.com at least 2 weeks prior to training. Attendees who are willing to pair up with other professionals in class to get treated will ensure maximum hands-on experience.
Contraindications include
- Use of Accutane within last 6 months
- Severe Acne or herpes outbreak (if prone to outbreaks, may want to take viral suppressant)
- Active acne breakout (treatment will not be done in that area)
- Plastic surgery procedure with the past 3-6 months
- Stop any Retin-A products 48 hours prior
- Sunburn or recent tanning
- No recent aggressive chemical peels where skin is not fully healed
