If you’re a new PRX-T33 provider, congratulations on making such a wise business decision. One of your first steps is training, of course, to ensure you can administer optimal treatments and help your clients achieve incredible results.
While our training video, presented by Lisa Ricciardelli, clinical director and master trainer of Love Beauty Pro and Plasma Concepts, carefully explains and demonstrates each step of PRX-T33 in great detail, we thought we’d highlight a few of her treatment tips for achieving your best results.
It’s all about pressure.
Every PRX kit comes with a scale. We include this for training purposes because the amount of pressure you apply to the skin is vital to the treatment’s success. Practice pressing on the scale so you can learn the precise amount of pressure needed — 3 pounds. It won’t take long before you’re a pro. If you’re familiar with lymphatic massage, PRX-T33 requires a similar type of pressure.
Look for an erythema (a superficial reddening or glow) in the treatment areas.
The average person typically needs three applications per treatment area before an erythema can be seen. Thicker skinned areas may need up to five applications. Keep in mind that PRX-T33 treatment for the face is divided into quadrants, or areas. The most common treatment areas are the forehead, temple, cheek bones, lower chin, upper lip and neck. Each treatment area normally receives at least three applications of the PRX-T33 solution. This means three passes are needed for the forehead, three passes for the cheek bones, three passes for the lower chin and so on. Thicker skinned areas such as the abdomen may need five passes.
● Every client is different. If redness or a stinging sensation develops immediately upon the first application (this is rare but can occur among extremely fair or thin skin types) you can neutralize and stop treatment by applying the WiQo moisturizer.
● As you are rubbing the solution into the skin, be careful to avoid the eyes. Have saline solution handy in case you need to flush any solution from the eyes.
Know your stopping point.
While you need to apply firm pressure to ensure the skin absorbs PRX-T33, there is such a thing as applying too much pressure and rubbing. If you are too aggressive and rub skin too hard, you risk tearing or irritating the skin. To avoid injury, you need to know when to stop. Here’s a helpful trick for those who are applying the PRX-T33 with their hands and wearing protective gloves (our preferred method). As you apply the solution to the skin using precise, targeted pressure (as demonstrated in our training video), your gloves will easily glide over the skin at first. Once the solution has been fully absorbed into the skin, your gloves will start feeling tacky, like they are sticking to the skin. Once this happens, you know that your application is over and it’s time to reapply the solution for another pass. (Each treatment area typically requires three applications.)
Enjoy!
Aside from the incredible results your clients will be thrilled about, a major benefit of PRX-T33 is that there’s virtually no risk for you or your clients. PRX-T33 doesn’t break the skin so there’s no downtime. What’s more, PRX-T33 is also an extremely well-tolerated treatment — and quite relaxing to experience, both for you and your client!
